Obituary of James Gregory Yohe

James Gregory Yohe "Irish" 48, of Tucson, Az. passed away on July 21, 2023, at 6:50 am, surrounded with love by his wife Tamra Fought-Yohe, of Tucson, Az., whom he has been with for 17yrs., and with their two daughter's Shawna Gonzales and Janae Fought-Yohe, both of Tucson, Az., And one of their sons Gavine Yohe of Dallas, Oregon.

He leaves behind their son Ruben Micheal, his three grandchildren Jaxon James, Gabriela Evelyn, Zion Jay, and grandbaby #4 on the way (September) Kane James, all from Tucson, Az. He also leaves behind his sister Alycia Roy of Omaha, Nebraska, and two nephews Jermaine Davis Jr of Tucson, Az. And David Trotter of Omaha, Nebraska, and a niece Dejanque Trotter of Omaha, Nebraska. He leaves behind his best friend "Ghost" his American bulldog.
In death, he joins his mother and stepfather, Donna and David Stevens. And many close friends.

Born in Elkhart, Indiana in 1974, James' mom worked for IBM and was given an opportunity for advancement however that would mean moving to Arizona in 1987/88. James had a rough upbringing that would lead him to the streets at 15-16 years old, the streets would lead him to being in and out of jail and to prison (3 times). In his early twenties, James was diagnosed with being SMI due to bi-polar with schizophrenia and having an anger disorder, as well as having depression and anxiety. He is very well known and respected in the "streets" of Tucson. James's health hasn't always been the best, he has had 24 surgeries in his lifetime from having a knee replacement, to half of a lung removed, a kidney reconstruction surgery, and wrist bone removal, along with having bullet fragments removed from his back. But these past three years have taken a toll on him mentally and physically. 2 years ago James was diagnosed with severe Axonal and Demyelinating Peripheral Neuropathy which had advanced to Charcot Disease, a year and a half ago....that would lead him being in and out of the hospital and to having   13 surgeries this year alone on his left leg/ankle, both feet and his left kidney. James loved sports and he loved playing sports as well, so when he became confined to a wheelchair with no weight-bearing limitations put on him. Being active as to running, jogging, jumping, and even walking to being confined to a wheelchair, it started messing with him mentally. James was also in a world of pain because he couldn't find a doctor that was willing to give him pain meds, they would want him to meditate or take acupuncture for pain. James had an infection from a couple of ulcers that he had, that he got regularly from his neuropathy. James had already had two toes amputated this year. James was at the hospital two weeks prior to his death for infection and an amputation of yet another toe... And on July 11th he was brought back to the hospital to have the infection that he was released with two weeks prior addressed, little did anybody know that on July 11th at 3:33 in the afternoon that James would be found unresponsive in the bathroom of the hospital's ER. On July 20th James had a walk of honor through the hallways of the ICU, James was the only donor in Tucson, Arizona at that time. His heart would be the first to go as a young man from California, in his 20's needed a heart transplant...so on July 21st at 3 am James was taken off life support, unfortunately as a donor he did not pass in the time frame needed in order to be able to use any organs. Unfortunately, James passed away on July 21st, 2023 at 6:50 a.m.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved him.
