Obituary of Barbara Schenkenberger

Barbara Hodges Schenkenberger (1941-2013) passed away peacefully on May 2, 2013. She was 71. Barbara was born Barbara Lee Noble in New Orleans on December 9, 1941. Following graduation from Fortier high school in New Orleans, she attended LSU. Her professional career began in New Orleans and took her to a number of cities in Louisiana, as well as Memphis, Tennessee and New York City where she married her husband, Ron, in 1983. She and her husband relocated to Tucson in 1990. Barbara’s fondness for Tucson began in mid-1970 when business brought her to the city for the first time. She loved the desert, the mountains and the beautiful sunsets. She is survived by her husband, Ron; her son, Brett Hodges (wife Kathy) who resides in Charlotte, North Carolina; her sister, Dianne Blain (husband Hugh); and nephew, Conley Jones (wife Karla) who reside in New Orleans. Barbara will be sorely missed and her enduring spirit will live on in the hearts and minds of all who knew and loved her. In accordance with her wishes, there will be a private gathering in New Orleans celebrating her life. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Frontotemporal Dementia Foundation may be considered.
