I went through the Chaplain training class with Jim at Northwest Medical Center last fall. He was such a nice man, very congenial, and eager to learn and serve others. Never did he complain or let the burden of his illness keep him from reaching out and helping others. It has been a blessing for me to know him.

After completing the chaplain training course at Northwest Medical Center, Jim went along with some of the experienced chaplains before he visited patients on his own. I was one of those chaplains. When we completed our rounds, I asked him, "Are you sure you've never done this before?" His kind and gentle manner put people at ease and helped them deal with their illness. I feel blessed to have known him.

Jimmy was a impeccable Chaplain. While in training he was still a southern gent. One of the patient's wife started to flirt with him and he blushed,Jimmy was very gracious and in his charming way had a wonderful visit. Alot of the patients asked if he was a minister. Jimmy will be missed. Thank You for sharing your presents with me. Your Sister in Christ Jesus , Theresa

My principle acquaintance with Jimmy was as a golfing partner in Cortez, Col. We shared all the pleasures and frustrations of trying to send those little golf balls where they should go but didn't. I have many pictures in my mind of the times we shared and the laughs we had together. He was always first to arrive and practice before we teed off.He had a love of life and an infectious laugh. I'll try to hit a couple of straight ones for him this summer. I shall miss a good friend

Jim was a great friend and I will always remember him as a very kind and gentle person.I first met Jim at 12 step meetings as we struggled through very dysfunctional relationships.Jim was a great support to me.
Jim's marriage to his wife Lynn transformed his life and brought him the peace, contentment and love that he sought and so deserved.
Jim's strong faith sustained him through serious surgery and a battle with cancer.I never heard him complain and he was always thankful for another day, week and month to share with Lynn.
Jim was extremely proud of his son Val and really appreciated his visits to Tucson during his final year.
You will be greatly missed but always remembered,my friend.

Lynn,
My life was enriched during the many summers that I spent on the golf course with Jimmy in Mancos, Colorado.
We had many discussions about our faith in the Lord and know that he is now residing in Heaven.
Lynn I don't need to tell you much he loved you-which he expressed to me daily-when you were not with him at the campground in Colorado.

Lynn- Jim was an amazing, caring and wonderful man who loved you very much! I was honored to have worked with him at our Flu Clinics in 2004. Without him, our clinics would have been a disaster! He always had a positive attitude and helped keep us all going! I pray that God will keep you in the palm of His hand and give you the strength and comfort you need at this time. Don't hesitate to find me if you want to talk! Love, Cece
