Growing up with Joy as my big sister, I will always remember her smiling face, even though she had many physical challenges. Our dad built an exercise/walking ramp with parallel bars to help her exercise her legs and improve balance. I remember with I was about eight years old traveling with our parents when Joy had one of her surgeries to improve her legs. Joy was fifteen. I don't recall where the Children's Hospital was but the place seemed so far away and I felt sorry that she had to be there away from all of her brothers and sisters. It seemed to be a lonely place. To be there didn't look to be much fun. I am so thankful she has had such loving care from our brother, John and family and all those at Villa Maria.

JOY, ME (Cousin Phil), and Cousin DON were young children together. Joy was a tiny "premie" when she was born. She always struggled with walking and mobility. Don and I entertained her. I loved making her laugh. She was an overcomer and not one to give up. Her entire life was a struggle. Her struggle is finally over. I know her family will miss her, but her faith was in the Lord. I'm sure she is in His Hands. Sadly, Cousin Phil <><<
